Reef Reverie

Reef Reverie began underwater, in the Australia of Rockefeller’s childhood. Coral and branching marine forms are rebuilt as tall, vivid silhouettes you can walk between: a reef lifted out of the sea and set down in the open air, where the sun and wind do to it what the tide once did. Familiar and slightly wrong, monumental and fragile at once, it invites you to wander a garden that shouldn’t exist above water.

Reef Reverie was installed at Sculpture by the Sea, supported by the Mostyn Family Foundation Artist Subsidy.
