Rockefeller creates richly crafted worlds where fine art, film and theatre converge. His work blends a noir-inflected cinematic eye with handcrafted precision, resulting in pieces that are visually iconic, emotionally warm, and instantly recognizable.

His screen career began with the award-winning documentary Boy From the Blue Room, followed by film school and a formative apprenticeship with Baz Luhrmann. His hand-drawn animated film A Little Death is currently in production.

In his visual art, Rockefeller blends personal history and constructed myth into cinematic, uncanny worlds across painting, sculpture, and photography. His work is held in private collections in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Alongside his studio and film practice, over 80 theatrical productions of his work are performed in 20 countries. Seen by millions and generating more than $300 million globally, they have received two New York Times Critics’ Picks, Broadway World Awards, Drama Desk nominations, and international acclaim for their innovative puppetry, design and direction.

Born in Australia, he divides his time between New York,  London and Australia.
